What is a bouquet CSA?

Welcome to a little mini series of posts explaining what a bouquet CSA is and the benefits it brings to both the customer and the farmer! Today we will begin with benefits to the customer.

CSA stands for community supported agriculture. It’s a tool for farmers to bring together the local community to financially support a farm’s production of crops throughout the growing season. CSAs work by selling a “share” of crops to individuals or businesses. A customer pays for their portion at the beginning of the growing season or earlier, and then throughout the growing season the customer receives the freshest crops on a weekly or monthly basis coming from the field.

CSA benefits to CUSTOMERS

🌸The first flowers blooming in the field always are harvested first for CSA members. This is before we ever open up single bouquet orders. When we have a large CSA member base, our tiny farm rarely has room to open up for single bouquet orders. So CSA members ALWAYS get the first flowers!!

🌸 A relationship is built with their farmer, and we love to answer your questions and wave a hello from the field!

🌸Exposure to new and unique flower varieties- for example, we had so many customers comment on our giant salmon zinnias last season. It’s just not a flower seen in grocery stores along with dahlias and many others!

🌸 CSA members receive each bouquet at a discount for buying in bulk ahead of time. The average price of a deluxe CSA bouquet for 2023 is $29. Individual deluxe bouquets sold will start at $35.
