Erica and Alex's Carter Mountain Engagement Portraits

Alex sent me an email five days ago saying that he and his fiancee were going to be in Charlottesville on a little vacation this weekend and would love to have some engagement portraits taken while they were in town.  I'm so glad that it worked out because this is the only free weekend we have until November!  It was such a pleasure to meet them this morning at Carter Mountain Orchard. I always enjoy the challenge of photographing clients in familiar places where I've shot before.  I don't like creating the same staged images and I know our clients aren't looking for the same exact poses in the same exact places as everyone else who has ever been photographed there!  So I see each photo shoot as an adventure - a search for the best light in the best locations.  That is part of why I enjoyed my time with Alex and Erica this morning - they were willing to tromp through the orchards and try anything I threw at them!

We wrapped up just as it was getting a bit too hot and I'm thrilled with how they turned out.  Here are a few of my favorites so far.  Erica and Alex, thanks again for finding us and for letting me document this special time for you!  I wish you the best as you make all your plans for the future!
